B.longissimum

Wellsy, how long are the sepals? I am trying to see if the flower numbers influence the length of the sepals. The longest sepals I have recorded (14") were on an inflorescence with 3 flowers. I also have a primary cross B.longissimum x B. Louis Sander the sepals have reached 12" with 4 flowers. The original cross of B.Louis Sander was recorded as B.longissimum x B.ornatissimum in 1936 by Sanders.... the question is, what plant was used for B.ornatissimum?

smidgin under 12 most

These ones are a smidgin under 12 most of the flowers with one or two just over.

I reckon you are on the right track.....I don't have it recorded (I'm not as methodical as you are Bernard) but I do know I have seen the sepals longer with less flowers in past flowerings.
