bulbo's

Hi Daniel, Love your bulbo pictures. Are you domiciled in Malaysia? your selection of species would indicate an ideal growing environment. I really have to keep up to scratch just to get some of my bulbo's to flower. But then nobody said it would be easy.

Hi. yes i live here in M'sia. Well, i usually leave my plants alone in a place where they are happy with. For those that doesn't flower, i will try to shift them to brighther areas. Will have some stubborn ones especially if they are not native. Generally i leave my plants in my orchard which gives them better environment compare to if i keep them at home in city area. only water them when necessary. Less water is better than overwatering.

Malaysia

Hi Daniel, I can remember the environment and the rugged terrain of the forest on Peninsula Malaya. In the late 1950's I spent two years in and around Ipoh and further north up to the then, Siam border. At that time orchids couldn't have been further from my mind. My Malayan experience is one of the reasons I decided to grow S E Asian orchids which have, since, given me lots of pleasure. Do you have any species from section Aphanobulbon? I find this sec fascinating.

Bernabu

Hi bernabu, yes i do have a few of them from the section Aphanobulbon. Now i realise it when you mention this. I think i did submit some photos here previously, but i'm not sure. it's been a while. i Don't even remember what i've submited. will check on the lost photos that wellsy is working on from time to time. If i could find some photos, i will post it later. i only have 2 sp that flowers freely. the others from the same sect. are quite stubborn. kept them for many years but have not seen them flowering. i find this section quite difficult to ID as most of them look alike unless you put them under the microscope. Still learning to ID them properly.
Regards, Daniel.

Aphanobulbon

Thanks Daniel, I think part of the enjoyment of growing orchids (for me)is the challenge of flowering them in an artificial environment. Section Aphanobulbon together with Epicrianthes are both very challenging. look forward to seeing more of your interesting images.
