Epitaph: Greek, Kiro = fingers, with reference to the finger-like appendages attached to the minute petals

Distribution: Sumatra, Borneo and the Malay Peninsula.

Bulbophyllum cheiropetalum. All the species from this section are hanging plants on the underside of branches in open podzolic forest (with an open canopy and a very dense undergrowth). This species is recorded from Sumatra, Borneo and the Malay Peninsula. The 15mm flowers, which last one or two days, rarely open fully.
