Dendrobium linguiforme var. nugentii F.M.Bailey, Queensl. Fl. 6: 1533 (1902).
Synonyms: Dendrobium nugentii (F.M.Bailey) D.L.Jones & M.A.Clem., Austral. Orchid Res. 1: 58 (1989).
Dockrillia nugentii (F.M.Bailey) M.A.Clem. & D.L.Jones, Lasianthera 1: 18 (1996).
The most obvious difference between D nugentii and the D linguiforme is that nugentii has smaller more filled in flowers. When not in bloom they can be identified in that D nugentii has leaves with a sandpaper feel to them whereas D linguiforme has smooth leaves. This one is in bloom in the last week in August in Melbourne shade house.

rough leaf
The rough leaf surface is certainly very noticeable West. I have often wondered whether these two are different enough to warrant being separated into two distinct species but I'll leave that to the Botanists I think.
