Laelia gouldiana
Laelia gouldiana occurs in the same habitat as L. anceps and it can also be grown and flowered in an unheated shadehouse.
It can carry more flowers of rich deep colour than L. anceps but they are slightly smaller about 75 mm across
L. anceps, L. gouldiana, are arguably the easiest to grow under cool conditions, especially if you have a shadehouse with a Hard roof, so that the plants can be kept fairly dry in winter.

True species????
Tim, are you sure this is not a true species????

Species Hybrids
I was under the impression that if 2 species hybridize naturally, that the offspring are still classed as a species, but that all you do you is to put the parents names in brackets.
Is this correct ??

just trying to add some info
my mistake
Nothing wrong
Nothing wrong with extra info Tim as long as it is correct.
Laelia gouldiana is a true species and is not a natural hybrid between Laelia autumnalis and Laelia anceps, also autumnalis x anceps is a primaty hybrid registered as Laelia Autoceps.
